Nisei Impact Youth Storytelling Project
While working as a reporter at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser via Report for America, I launched and led a new youth storytelling project about Hawaiʻi's nisei veterans.
In partnership with the nonprofit Nisei Veterans Legacy, I taught and mentored a group of high school students about journalism and storytelling. At the end of the four-month project, the students wrote stories about the nisei veterans, publishing them in the Star-Advertiser as part of a special series.
