Jayna Omaye
Born and raised on Oʻahu, I love writing about the communities I grew up in and highlighting the challenges and successes that make Hawaiʻi so unique.
I've worked as a reporter and staff writer for nearly a decade in four newsrooms — Hawaiʻi Public Radio, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Honolulu Magazine and the Orlando Sentinel. My work has also appeared in USA Today, McClatchy DC, UPI, MarketWatch and the Military Times.
I earned my master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and my bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon. I'm also a Moanalua High School grad. (Go Menes!) I'm happy to be home working as a journalist.
